This book is amazing, once again Delaney has managed to write an amazing book with loads of mystery, jumpy parts and adventure!! Its a must read :)
only downfall is that it is not available in the old style book covers :/

Continues this excellent series with the same pace and he manges to keep the storylines fresh and refreshingly one step ahead of the reder.

Joseph Delaney's Wardstone Chronicles are brilliant, they offer chills, action, adventure and horror and are written in a fast paced, engrossing style. This latest installment is no different and right from the very first page you will be transported back into the Spook's world and won't leave until the very final page which will leave you desperate for the next book. Delaney again uses Tom's first person narrative to provide the reader with a thrilling, suspenseful story and the character development, as always, is of a very high quality.
This time around, Tom faces perhaps his most dangerous adversary, a vampire god sent by the still weakened Fiend to kill Tom and wreak horror upon the County. Along the way there are plenty of chills and adventures and a perfect blend of horror, action and enough scary creatures to satisfy fans of the series and of horror. Secrets are revealed, questions answered and new questions posed. This is perhaps not the best of the Wardstone Chronicles, and it seems somewhat rushed and could have benefited from some deeper levels of detail in parts. However, Delaney's prose never becomes boring or repetitve and the pages go past in a blur - he needs to make them longer, the books are over way too quickly.
Overall, this is an awesome and scary tenth installment and is a worthy penultimate story for Tom's side of the narrative. (there will be three more books, one more in Tom's story, another told by a mage: Spook's Tale: Slither, and the 'i am alice' that will be told through Alice's POV). If you're already a fan pick this one up now, if you're new i suggest starting from the very beginning (Spooks Apprentice) as is will offer up a journey you won't regret starting.

have enjoyed all the spook books and this was no exception, lots of excitement lots of gore and its not predictable

I really loved this book. It has the perfect amount of action, sadness, mystery and suspense! I like how grimalkin was used in this book again, but was devastated at some twists and turns in the story!!! I recommend this book, but like always you have to read the others in the series first, and in order!!! Otherwise really confusing! Really great read, couldn't put it down!!!

This one was really a non stop read. As you got into the Spook's Blood you wondered if he was in a pit or lock up in a cell

What a fantastic set of books to read from the very first page of the first book I was hooked and still am. I'm on book 10 now and still engrossed in them just not sure what I am going to read after I finished them all!!!

Again Delaney writes a book packed with twists and turns..questions are answered and new questions formulate..in a book which expands the horizons of Tom ward there is plenty of action, plenty of plot and more blood than you could thrust a staff at. The final end is in sight and questions are due answering... this book will leave you feverishly awaiting the next.

It's epic!!!! Full of action and excitement. You will never put it down. Just read it if you don't you'll regret it!!!

Another fantastic installment in the Wardstone Chronicles series. Addictive reading and a highly recommended series to any fiction fans out there!
