I have to be honest. I lov some of his earlier books in the series (Especially Mid-Flinx) but its REALLY starting to get a bit samey. Im only reading these for some closure now.
I got two thirds of the way through the book before I had to take a month break. There are only so many times Flinx can arrive at a planet, only for his desire to be left alone to cross with the natives desires for something else, before he affects positive cultural change and leaves again. Ugh.

I do generally quite enjoy the Flinx books, but this one was not up to the usual standard. It doesn't really advance the main story line at all so you can happily skip it if you want. I did manage to read it to the end, but I will not be reading it again (which I have done with most of the Flinx series).

I have read all of Alan Dean Foster's commonwealth books and they are a brilliant read. The stories and description are way ahead of their time. If you enjoy Sci-fi and like a good series, the Pip and Flinx book's are for you.
