2.0 out of 5 stars Vietnam Vets Don't Do Star Wars, 2 Jun 2005
Culleton (Winchester, UK) - See all my reviews
*yawn* What a struggle to read this. I had high expectations for this story and that was the problem I guess. I should have known better when I knew that 2 old US Army Vietnam vets or whatever they are were writing this. It's chock full of military planning, jargon and tactics but what was good for them isn't necessarily good for the Clone Wars. Aside from the military aspect, the new characters that are introduced are instantly forgetable and you care little for their outcome and well-being. Anakin is portrayed quite well which is the only plus point, but I was hoping for a great Nejaa Halcyon background story, and there just wasn't one. I found it astonishing how easily he told Anakin his secret. And as for the villain, every time I read about him I wanted to toss the book away. Lately it's been hard to put a Clone Wars book down, but this one was tough to complete. On a par with the Beano.
