5.0 out of 5 stars A truly classic book about a man and a towel
let me say two words… BUY IT! Okay, hopefully you’re still with me so I’ll continue. The Hitchhiker’s Guide consists of five stories plus a very short story which isn’t really worth the paper it’s written on (no loss however, there’s another 800 pages in the book to be entertained by).
The theme throughout the stories is the...

3.0 out of 5 stars excellent until the end
had it not been for 'mostly harmless' and to a lesser extent 'so long and thanks for all the fish' i wouldn't have hesitated to give this 5 stars but unfortunately(uh oh) i just can't bring myself to do. i was a huge fan of this series but only read 'so long..'(SL) and 'mostly har...'(MH) very recently and they just don't fit in to the style of the first three. 5.0 out of 5 stars This Book Knows Where It's Towel Is, 4 May 2005
This review is from: The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Paperback)
Anything that happens, happens.
I read this book.
Anything that in happening, causes something else to happen, casues something else to happen.
I read this book and laughed. A lot.
Anything that causes in happening, causes itself to happen again, happens again.
I read this book, and then i read it again, and again, and again...
It doesn't necessarily do it in chronological order though.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nothing to recommend it., 31 July 1999
By A Customer
With the fourth part included in it, there is absolutely no reason to recommend this compilation. Get the first three separately, otherwise it will ruin the whole experience.
Don't pay to read Douglas Adams laugh at your face.

1.0 out of 5 stars what a horrible book, 2 Jun 1999
By A Customer
This book was a terrible one, in that all it did for me was get me exited and interested, only to dash my hopes of any answers, by not answering unanswerable questions logically.
