5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent standup turned to hilarious book
This is very, very funny. It's great fun and can easily be delved into. Great stuff & many quotable lines (the bit on Where Eagles Dare particularly cracked me up).

3.0 out of 5 stars Very Funny, Mr Murray!
This book `oozes' Al Murray and if you love his TV show you'll certainly enjoy this!

It is absolutely hilarious in places and you will certainly draw strange looks from other people if reading this book in a public place! However, I did find some topics to be drawn out a tad and therefore, for me, this lost some of its wit and charm.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Pub Landlords' Book of British Common Sense - A Review, 1 Sep 2009

For any fan of Jeremy Clarkson style solutions to the problems created by living in the politically correct / EU dictated society which Britain is, then this book will cause you to chuckle at every paragraph and nod in agreement at the end of every page.

Offering practical, bloke-ish, straightforward advice on subjects including: how to tell if your pub is a wine bar, how to survive a pub conversation about cars and how to escape from said car if it plunges into the canal. All of the advice is given with the clarity only achieved when viewed through the bottom of a beer glass (not wine or fruit based beverage).

Very funny, very true. 5 out of 5 stars.

Can't stop laughing long enough to review this. Having already read the 'how to be British' book this is a good find.

This book will be best enjoyed in your lighter, carefree moments due to the frivolous content.

Overall a fun read!
