4.0 out of 5 stars An eager Kipper dons just his stripy scarf for the snow....., 3 Nov 2010
This review is from: Kipper's Snowy Day (Paperback)
....his reluctant doggy friend, 'Tiger' is far more sensible.....and a fun new game is created.....eventually!

Paperback edition 1997 - measuring in at c 20.75 cm x 22.75 cm.

From the back cover:

'Huge cotton wool snowflakes are tumbling past Kipper's window and Kipper can't wait to go outside!'

Kipper and Tiger adorn the front cover which opens to 24 quality shiny pages, in the popular 2-page spread format, with descriptive text on one page and simple but appropriately atmospheric illustrations following through on the other, for the main part of the book.

Example of text:

'.....Kipper rushed outside. The snow lay deep and smooth and new, like an empty page waiting to be scribbled on. He made a paw print, and then another. And then with a whoop he went charging round and round, criss-crossing this way and that, until the garden was full of his tracks.
Kipper stopped to catch his breath, letting the swirling snowflakes melt on his tongue....'

As Kipper nonchalantly goes on to expand on his 'paw print', he is so impressed with his new idea he rushes off to get his best dog-friend, Tiger. He is at the top of Big Hill, wrapped up in the clothes you see him in on the front cover. Kipper is far more impressed with the white stuff than Tiger, and eager to make the most of it in case it goes.......as Tiger predicts....'a warm wind is coming'.
Snowballs galore, as Kipper tries hard to encourage his best friend!
Although Tiger does try to engage in Kipper's new game, his abundance of woolly clothes hamper him......so much so that Tiger accidentally invents another new game which lasts all day and creates a great sideline opportunity, as it turns out!

And......the usually knowledgeable Tiger's weather forecast turns out to be a little inaccurate, for the thaw is a long time coming....which is useful.... for some!

As usual, Kipper entertains (although some can be sensitive re the impact of the snowballs)!

And, with Christmas just around the corner (at the time of writing) here is your very own little KIPPER, and his friend, TIGER, too!
Or, maybe your favourite character of the KIPPER BOOK series is........little ARNOLD?

As always, a lovely story for Kipper fans. Clear illustrations and simple text make it suitable for both my 3 and 5 year old grandsons
