5.0 out of 5 stars I enjoyed this as much as my teenage sons did, 29 Mar. 2007
This review is from: The Wild (Paperback)
A fantastic book, this is a story of a quest by two brothers, across the Ukraine. The younger brother has a brain tumour as a result of exposure to radiation and pollution around the arid, dried up ocean next to hte boys home.

If I say that there is an amazingly evocative description of landscape, that Whyman handles the relationship between the teenagers themselves as well as with the broken adults around them, with sincerity and deftness, every kid in the country will switch off.

Better then to say that this is an engrossing and exciting story, frightening and sad in parts, but absolutely worth it.

Highly recommended especially for 12-15 year olds.
