5.0 out of 5 stars A tale of Two Leeds Uniteds, 24 Feb. 2002

This review is from: Marching on Together: My Life at Leeds United (Hardcover)
Although not getting the sales of the O'Leary book, this is perhaps more rounded and more interesting following as it does not only the Great team of now but also the Revie years when Leeds were at the top as well. What was interesting is that we know that the money that the top stars of the 70's came away with was not enough to retire on like today's equivelents, but the financial hardships that they faced after finishing their career is harder to imagine. This book was particularly interesting for Eddie's years in between playing and coaching for Leeds.

5.0 out of 5 stars A superb read, A true footballing story, 6 Nov. 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Marching on Together: My Life at Leeds United (Hardcover)
Whether you thought eddie gray was true footballing genius or just another player from 'that dirty leeds team' You will find this book fascinating. I started reading it and didn't stop till i'd turned the last page. Not only a book about the mans life but a wonderful insight into the game, it's up's and downs, its ability to make you scream with joy on saturday and weep with despair on a wednesday, this book takes you on a journey from the days a player was well paid at 20 quid a week to present day when £20,000 is an an average.
I loved this book, as a leeds supporter and as a football fan I found it fascinating, shame all books on football don't have this depth. a truly wonderful insight into 'Our' Game

4.0 out of 5 stars HOW ARE THE MIGHTY FALLEN, 31 July 2005
By
G. J. Weeks (London) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Autobiography of a beloved Leeds legend.
Reliving the glory days with one of Revie's greats. How have the mighty fallen since his concluding words in 2002 that Leeds have the potential to be in the same bracket as Arsenal or the red devils :-( Not even the same league now.
But it is good to hear Eddie's side of the story, though it needs to be brought up to date.
