A little patronising
on 19 September 2015
There is no doubt much wisdom contained in this small book, which provides an overview of the spiritual laws of life. Unfortunately, contrary to other reviewers, I found the guidance lacking warmth and compassion. I did not appreciate the repeated casting of God and the Angels in the role of an exasperated parent dealing with an immature child (i.e., the human: me and you).
(Personally, I do not believe this is how we are regarded.)
But more importantly, for someone in serious distress or emotional pain, to be likened to a tantrum-throwing toddler, because of your praying style, would neither inspirational nor helpful.
I felt the book had the potential to be great, and evidently it is much liked by others, given the reviews.
The somewhat patronising undertone rather ruined it for me.
