4.0 out of 5 stars A great insight into the Elizabethan Government, 13 Nov. 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Elizabeth I and the Government of England (Access to History) (Paperback)
This book is great for learning about the the local and central government at the time of Elizaeth I. Keith Randell brings us a fantastic insight into the likes of William Cecil, Robert Dudley and the Earl of Essex.
Randell also discusses the problems that Elizabeth faced with her Privy council, and how she dealt with them, while at the same time maintaining the respect and loyalty of those who worked with her.
An excellent buy for anyone wishing to learn more about the reign of the great 'Virgin Queen'.

Thank you Mr Randell, I'm not an academic student, your book is just a good read for me.

Informative without being boring. Well written and great pace in the text.

I just wanted to get into Queen Elizabeth first and have a look around.

Your book does it just right. If only others could do the same?
