5.0 out of 5 stars Great for babies
I remebered learning at medical school that young babies couldn't see in colour and thats why they were so drawn to black nd white, so I searched for this type of book when my little girl was born. This was one of my favourites it's short and simple and she loved it. Babies are drawn to faces anyway so she was hooked from when she was tiny. At first she would stare as I...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not to all tastes - over-rated
I bought this for my eight week old son and to be quite frank he isn't really interested in it. I was pleased to read another reviewer with the same issue because the over-whelming response seems to be that this book is wonderful. If you have a content baby, it will be brilliant. If you have an alert baby (translation hardly sleeps, cries a lot, needs constant...

At first she would stare as I showed her the book as she got older she would reach out for it and sarted to appreciate the crinkly noise it made. She can turn the pages heself now and loves to chew it. It has lasted from 4 weeks and is still one of her favs at 6 months a great buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute and Simple, 2 Feb 2006

This book has become a fast favorite for my 21-week-old daughter.

The book has three pages entitled Daddy, Mummy and Baby. The pages make excellent crunching noises and there's a small velcro strap sewen to the book to ensure it doesn't fall out of your baby's pushchair.

This purchase was worthwhile.

5.0 out of 5 stars visual aid for babies, 25 Jan 2006
This is a great book for all babies.

However, the high contrast colours and mirror make it especially good for babies and children with visual problems. As do the book's tactile and auditory qualities, adding extra dimensions to the book, making it more interesting for children who can't see well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent little book, my baby loves it!, 22 April 2007
This is a simple little padded cloth book with crinkly pages and my baby loves it. It has been his favourite since he was a few weeks old and he still loves it at 4 months. I would recommend this without hesitation as he is transfixed with the patterns and the faces and loves to grab and crinkle the pages. Also it has a useful velcro loop which allows it to be hung on a babygym or car seat.

My little boy loves this and is fascinated by the black and white faces and patterns. He also likes to give it a good chewing as it is the perfect size for little gums and pudgy hands.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Buy!, 22 Sep 2008

I bought this last xmas for my son, who was then 3 months old. He was interested in it as soon as he got it - initially just looking at the pictures when I turned the pages. He then learned to turn the pages himself and loved the Daddy and Baby pictures the best - they always made him smile, as did the mirror on the front and he also loved to crinkle the pages. He loved this book! Even now, at just over a year old, I keep it in his cot as he still plays with it sometimes when he wakes up from a nap. He now absolutely loves books and am sure this fab initial introduction helped.
I cant recommend this highly enough! Am buying it this year for my new niece.

5.0 out of 5 stars a total hit!, 16 Aug 2008
By happy granny (Berks, England) - See all my reviews
my 3 month old granddaughter was captivated by this book from the second she saw it. I was doubtful when I first saw the book 'in the flesh' that it would hold her attention for long. It is extremely short and very simplistic, but she was (and still is) mesmerized by it. She stares intently at the patterns and smiles back at the faces. The crunchy sounds she is rewarded with when trying to grab at the pictures or chew the pages are an added bonus. This looks like being a favourite for quite some time

I ordered this book after reading recommendations on amazon and my baby seems to love it. He loves staring at the faces and the other patterns on the pages. The book crinkles so he loves to feel it and the velcro strap to attach it to cot/pram is a great feature. The book looks boring to parents but baby loves it! A great buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another happy baby, 31 May 2008

We bought this after reading the reviews on here. At three weeks he didn't show much interest at the pictures but was fascinated by the mirror on the front page. In week four he's started to be captivated by the baby picture, is neutral on the mummy picture and cries on the daddy picture :( Still a very good buy as his reactions to the book seem to change all the time.
