5.0 out of 5 stars Great book, depth and breadth, 24 Feb 2007

If you're looking for a book that explains operating systems from start to finish then you've found it here.

If you're looking for a book that goes into detail on everything operating systems (without making you fall asleep) you've found it.

All in all I would say this is a brilliant book for beginners and intermediates. It covers all the necessary ground work to get beginners off to a flying start but is clearly sectioned so that people studying or interested in more detail can find the information they need without having to read a lot of boring introductory stuff.

This is a very well written book and quite intriguing. It is very useful in getting to know operating systems more, this book was actually recommended by a senior lecturer of mine and I enjoy reading it. It has some technical points which are well explained. if you like reading about operating systems, this book is the one to have.

I bought the used book and was very surprised as it looked new.
I didn't use it much but it is a nice book to have and I would recommend it to those who are learning about operating systems (The title says it all)...
