5.0 out of 5 stars A counting story with a difference, 15 May 2008
This review is from: Catch That Kitten! (Paperback)
from Pamela Duncan Edwards.

From the back cover:-

'One, two, three, four.....
Help Tilly catch and count her cuddly kittens.
But be quick - they won't stay still for long!'

Large paperback with 24 high quality shiny pages in the popular 2-page spread format.
Beautifully illustrated throughout, further enhanced by relevant facial expressions!
Easy-to-follow text, emphasised in places for effect..

Example of text:-

`Tilly has five kittens in her basket.
One, two three four......
Uh-oh!
Where's snowball?
Is he in the doll's house?
No. Snowball is driving the train.
What a clever kitten!........'

But..... no sooner is Snowball back in the basket, and the count begins again........`ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR.....Uh-oh! Where is Midnight, this time?

And one by one the elusive kittens reduce the count........but, don't worry - by the end of the story, they are all tucked up in the basket.....or are they?

This book is a regular favourite in our local Library group......the youngest children love to join in with the count and try and work out which kitten is missing, each time!
The repeat theme is very popular with `Uh-oh' being the best bit!
All compete to be the most vociferous, and as it winds up the book....it lingers on and on and on.....! Uh-oh!

Super book which needs more exposure, in my opinion!

5.0 out of 5 stars Catch that kitten!, 5 Feb 2006
By A Customer
This review is from: Catch That Kitten! (Paperback)
My 18 month old son loves this book. It is about a mother cat who keeps losing one of her five kittens while trying to get them to sleep. Ideal bedtime story, simple storyline and early counting skills make it a good buy for a toddler or young child.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely bedtime story, 20 Jun 2011
This review is from: Catch That Kitten! (Paperback)
I came across this book in a local coffee shop and my 18 month old daughter loved it immediately, especially because of the repeated expression "Uh-oh" which features strongly in her own vocabulary at the moment! It's a lovely and simple story with beautiful illustrations, good for counting and for remembering names. Great for young toddlers.
