5.0 out of 5 stars A masterpiece!
If you loved the film this is better (In my opinion). Be warned it is very detailed and violent not a light read. Very well written but not for everyone. So if you don't like because of the violence etc then more fool you for thinking you would like this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful
I did have high hopes for this book - mainly based on it's cult status - but it disappointed in all areas. There didn't seem to be a plot, or have any characters of interest. It is well written, in as much that the graphic descriptions of pointless mutilation and designer clothes are vivid and detailed. I didn't acually finish reading it - which is the only plus point I...

1.0 out of 5 stars Absurd, 12 Jan 2014
This review is from: American Psycho (Perfect Paperback)
Totally agree with Jane. What kind of pleasure is there in reading this book? It was, by turns, extremely distasteful and extremely boring. The torture/sex was as though it had been written by a disturbed teenage fantasist. Avoid.

Another 'modern classic' I'm required to read. Well it maybe a classic, but it is also distasteful, has an extreme level of violence towards women which I found very offensive. I'd also class it as a black comedy. Be warned - it is a very descriptive book, which may well upset the reader.
