4.0 out of 5 stars The fight for Safehold continues.
David Weber's highly readable series immerses us again into the fascinating and engaging realms of Safehold, where Merlin Athrawes and his Charisian allies continue to fight against the might and corruption of the Church of God Awaiting. 3.0 out of 5 stars A mighty fortess, 20 July 2011
This review is from: A Mighty Fortress (Safehold 4) (Paperback)
A fun continuation of the series, I rate it 3, satisfactory not because I love it less, but because I love his other series ( Honor Harrington, Hell's Gate) much more. He writes with the old military axiom in mind, war is fought by human beings and works skillfully to make the characters depicted just that. I have always admired the way Weber can generate and sense of empathy, dynamism and realism for even the minor or most unpleasant characters he writes and he continues this in the safe-hold series.

Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I've just spent twelve days on the planet Safehold, and I am looking forward to returning there as soon as the fifth book in this well-imagined, enjoyable series becomes available on the Kindle.
