5.0 out of 5 stars she can write poetry too!!!, 22 Jan. 2003
This review is from: A Jury of Her Peers (Paperback)
Korelitz is a great poet and a very good novelist. This is a long book and quite complex as it weaves simultaneous tales. I found it a little predictable but the characters were deep and well presented. The hero is a female atorney in NYC who is in her mid thirties, I guess, and is faced with threats to her honour as a professional as well as as a woman. Sybylla Muldoon is a powerful character and I found myself sympathising with her throughout the story. She keeps on turning to friends, family and even the legal profession itself only to be let down. The book is not great literature but is a good read about corruption at very high levels of the Legislature.
