5.0 out of 5 stars Unexpected pleasure
I picked up this book as a stop-gap between some heavy thrillers but was very impressed with the depth and pace of the story. I just couldn't put it down. 1.0 out of 5 stars Nasty little book!
One of the few books I've ever bought and not finished reading. Don't be fooled by the cute dachshund on the cover. This is not a nice book at all. It doesn't even look like the jacket designer has bothered to look at the text. The author describes a golden long-haired mini dachshund, but the cover shows a smooth-haied Black and Tan! This review is from: Duplicity Dogged the Dachshund (Dixie Hemingway Mysteries) (Mass Market Paperback)
I picked up this book as a stop-gap between some heavy thrillers but was very impressed with the depth and pace of the story. I just couldn't put it down. There were a number of twists and turns in the story that were unexpected and this cleverly created story was definitely a page-turner . I would recommend you give this book a try and I shall certainly be looking for this author's next book. Dixie Hemingway has some serious past experiences to work out but her character is caring and considerate of others but when faced with danger she gets herself together. One or two moments of sadness and joy where the dogs are concerned which I felt added to the enjoyment of the story.
