4.0 out of 5 stars The end for Brant?, 9 Feb 2008

This review is from: Ammunition (Inspector Brant) (Paperback)
As ever Bruen wastes no time with this installment of the "White Arrest" series, fast paced with all dialogue & description serving a purpose. The author doesn't lead you up any blind alleys.
It's set after the 7th July bombings & the Met have brought in an adviser from the USA who is a match for DS Brant if not as direct.
The book starts with Brant being shot in a pub & leads to the death of one long term character with another weighing up the pro's & cons of suicide by the books end.
You get the feeling that Bruen is trying to draw this original, grim & funny series to a natural end. Ammunition doesn't disappoint & it addresses some of society's concerns with crime (citizens taking the law into their own hands, torture & murder by the police) wihtout losing your interest.
