TOP 500 REVIEWERon 18 March 2012
This is a 176 page book all about the new city and careers available in the Sims 3 Showtime. A comparison with the previous recent guides is quite positive. Whilst it is the same size, the font is much bigger and more readable. The pictures are many and useful.

However, whilst it goes through the new content, there doesn't seem to be a lot of things that you cannot easily figure out for yourself; there are few insider tips. Well, though, there are three highlights. One is what happens when you get a dusty old lamp (what to do with the genie). A second is a warning about some of the career props (they can kill your character). However, the final one is one I will share with you now. You can download the Sims 3 strategy app from iTunes, and that seems to be good value.

... Good information, useful, space for notes, just a good book. Unlike the big A4 sized prima game guides this has a really likeable size. It's not to small to read, it's not to big and clumsy, it can even fit into my purse so I can read it on the bus :)

i found this guide very helpful and delivery was quick but was quite small which is not good for someone visually impared as writing is tiny and the picture makes it look big but its not really intresting guide and would def recommmend !

This is a great guide as usual from Prima. It tells you everything you need to know and is in a handy A5 size. It is easy to dip in and out of as and when needed as the sections are well labelled. My only complaint is that it is not ring binded as Ambitions was which makes it easy to keep open on a specific page. Other than that...does what it says on the tin!

This book is helpful in many ways like cheats and helpful information. You can get many things from this book that would extremely helpful like information on the different boarding schools and afterschool clubs.

I was eager to get the Prima Guide for Showtime once I got the game. Based on previous versions which have helped me get the best out of the game, I was hoping for more of the same.

However, I am disappointed in this book. The new author wastes a lot of pages praising the use of cheat codes. I feel I've been left to figure the new careers myself. The new buildings of Starlight Shore aren't really covered in sufficient depth. Nor is the career paths of the new professions. Most of it I've picked up from the game.

There's less chapters too and there isn't much of an explaination of Simport; the new way to send your Sim to your friend's game. I'm selling this as it's been little use to me.

A guide of the families already living there would have been good and more coverage of the new town. Also a 'Day in the life' following a singer/magician/acrobat would've been an excellent way to explore the options. Most of the information is given in charts you could get in the game. It like a lot of lists rather than being narrative. The author wasn't engaging at all.

So I give 1/5 stars. Use the information on the Lessons in-game and give this a miss. Come back Catherine Browne who used to write these books.
