This review is from: Locating Renaissance Art: Renaissance Art Reconsidered (Renaissance Art Reconsidered Open University): 2 (Open University: Renaissance Art Reconsidered) (Paperback)
I have not yet completed the study of this book which is one set for The Open University, Renaissance art, level 3 course. The book so far is well illustrated with coloured plates relating to the location of artworks from northern Europe to the South. I particularly enjoy the detailed study of tapestry design, many of which originate from the Netherlands & whose craftsmen were highly sought after by the aristocracy & also the Papacy.
For anyone who has an interest in delving deeper into the whys & wherefores of Renaissance art, and for whom much of it was intended this book is well worth buying.
