This excellent book from the Yale University Press deals with the 13 species and 2 genera currently recognised but yhis may increase to 24 species in 4 genera depending on DNA analysis.
Following an introduction the book is in 5 parts-southern,tropical and northern albatrosses, comparative biology and victims and verses.
For each species the following is given-forms,distribution,breeding,biology moults, flights, behaviour and ecology.
There is a review of conservation.
Very well written and researched but some of the pictures could have been much better.
No doubt the definative statement on albatrosses will be forthcoming in the near future.
