Disasterous form destroys the reading experience!
on 22 August 2014
I am only on page 26 but I am already fed up with the extremely wierd presentation in this book. The text is at least once per page interrupted by completely unrelated quotes from various persons such as Groucho Marx: "All geniuses die Young", Poor Richard's Almanac: "A light purse is a heavy cures", Pablo Picasso: "Good artists copy, great artists steal" and so on. There is even a half page section describing how pneumonia Works - beacuse one of the early pioneers of the railroads died of pneumonia - poor and lonely. Each page also has a number of foot notes, which mostly contain jokes and retorical questions from the author. Really, really wierd!! I am sure the main text would be good and interesting if all of these distractions were omitted, but they completely destroy the flow!
