A user friendly format means this is a great book to dip in and out of, with short sharp case study examples for illustration purposes. Practical tips are highlighted in blocks, making key points clearly stand out at a glance. Particularly useful are the `brilliant recaps' at regular intervals to re-emphasise what needs to be focused upon. Not every chapter will be relevant to all readers, but whatever your business there is plenty of really useful information which can be practically applied. I especially liked the sections on avoiding `blocking' language (how often do we fall into those traps), listening more effectively (relevant to everyone) and understanding different personality types and the most appropriate ways to interact with people based on these.

Hands up if you know too much about providing brilliant customer service? I guess we all need more then! And Debra Stevens has not only given some timely reminders of what you should do but also an insight into what you must do.

Here's my declaration of interest. I know Debra Stevens and I'm proud to say I encouraged her to write this book. However, if I didn't think it would help you to improve your levels of service I certainly wouldn't be reviewing it here.

In short Brilliant Customer Service is a cracking device for anyone who really cares about service and wishes to expand their tool box of ideas, inspiration and solutions.
