I have not seen the more recent text which claims to be for practitioners as well as students. This is not the case with this text. I bought mine very cheaply but the latest edition is far from cheap I'd add even as a second hand copy on either Amazon or e-bay. E-bay don't allow any part of it to be seen whereas Amazon do show a little.
Well in essence we have a sound undergraduate text which shows a review of relevant management concepts which is fairly thorough and very clear. It could be useful to practitioners as a reference or MBA's in that it marries the sound exposition with a choice that is more suited to the consultancy task. In that sense this particular text seems to be admirable - so why have I have not given it more stars. I found it long winded to be honest from the angle of someone looking to use the ideas in practice. So, one can get (pleasantly) bogged down in elementary stuff if one is not careful. This could happen with an undergraduate of lower than average knowledge also. So, its got a lot of merits but must be used selectively and with astuteness or the whole thing will send one off to sleep rather than addressing one's needs.
