I found some parts of this book relevant and other bit were completely just to fill out pages. I found it quite patronising in places also. It's ok but would bother recommending to a friend.

I bought both this and the Rules of Management Book. I have also skipped through the Rules of Wealth, and think Mr Templar just churned out another book to fill a slot in his series.

The Rules of Life is very predicatable and dull and boring. Practically every rule is common sense, and I find my self skipping from page to page without even bothering to read the detail.

I do think Rules of Management and Wealth do offer something new and interesting to say, so would say go and buy them instead.

Amazon forces upon me a minimum of a one star review. This book is completely undeserving of any stars whatsoever. The author's 'Rules' are patronising garbage in the most part, obvious, or plain wrong. I was given this book as a present and for the first few pages I thought it was meant to be amusing; alas, it would appear Mr. Templar is sincere in his desire to tell everyone how they should live their lives.

Some of the rules clearly contradict one-another, for example 'Live in the moment' and 'Have a plan'. The most amusing is 'Learn to ask questions', which I prompts me to come up with the following:

- Who reads this garbage?
- Who is Richard Templar?
- Why is he telling me how to live my life?

The people whom I imagine will enjoy this are of the self-appointed 'Spiritual' type, the kind who think that by meditating and doing pilates they have a grasp on the 'way things really are'. Is this more important than being an individual? Live your own life!

I found this to be boring, toneless and humorless. It reads rather like a generic electrical appliance manual. Nothing emotive or enjoyable coming across in the reading of this book which at times is nothing more that preaching. I'd look to organised religion if I needed someone else to tell me generically what I (or WE as often mentioned in the book) should and shouldn't be thinking or doing. As an avid fan of continuous self improvement I couldn't recommend this to anyone.

I have never been a follower of such books. Utter waste of time.
Very poor.
