2.0 out of 5 stars Not as I had imagined
**Contains spoilers** The heroine is a widow and a mother and step-mother. She married an older man and has borne a child. We later learn that her first love was Viscount Rothersthorpe and that they did not marry due to a misunderstanding. **Contains spoilers** The heroine is a widow and a mother and step-mother. She married an older man and has borne a child. We later learn that her first love was Viscount Rothersthorpe and that they did not marry due to a misunderstanding. The story is well written, however I was disappointed that the heroine was a widow and not the usual innocent. I like my romances light-hearted. There was too much realism for me, with the mental health issues. I have read and enjoyed previous Annie Burrows books; The Viscount & The Virgin & Never Trust a Rake, but this was not one of her best.
