Although a bit thin on content still some lovely things - especially Grandad's "Wobblies" and the hilarious "And so to bed"

If this is the sort of thing you like, you'll like this sort of thing. And I love it. Typical McGough is praise indeed

Gave it as a gift and recipient was thrilled - McGough still does it. He has always been a peoples poet.

The first volume of poetry I ever bought for myself , when barely a teenager, was 'The Mersey Beat'- Henri, Mitchell & McGough. I have bought a lot more McGough over the years, and they have never failed to delight. He remains accessible, frequently funny, but often with a depth under the immediately entertaining surface. I was also lucky enough to see him perform live a few years ago, and he seemed a genuinely nice man. This volume shows he remains undiminished: viva McGough!

Yet again, Roger McGough plays with words and ideas and shows he hasn't lost his touch for the imagery he has been creating since the sixties. Brilliant!
