5.0 out of 5 stars All you need to Know in easy to understand terms, 26 Mar 2010
This review is from: Photoshop CS4: Essential Skills (Photography Essential Skills) (Paperback)
I have over the past 2 or 3 years bought several books on Photoshop CS4 none of them are better written than this one. It takes you from calibrating your monitor (including what defaults to use)to getting good printing technique and how to use printer profiles and the explains loads of actions and transformations to be carried out on your pictures to get the best results, and as if that isn't enough there is also 10 hours of video lessons and tips on the included DVD.
I dont think I will ever need another book on Photoshop CS4 takes you from intermediate user to advanced but still has a lot to give to the new user who will want his own copy of this book within 6 months of getting started in Photoshop. BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!

Ideal book for newbies and experienced Photoshop users. Good lay out and simple to follow. Although an experienced PS user, I knew there was many functions I had no idea how to use, this book has certainly helped.
Highly recommended

Photoshop is a complicated product that allows huge creative scope for photographers. This book is an excellent guide to using photoshop CS4 and allowed me (an amateur) to extend my use of CS4 and to turn some pictures from a snap into a competition shot. The book is structured for all levels of user and will not be out of place on a professionals bookshelf.

This is a great book and it really helps you getting to know Adobe Photoshop CS4.. In the beginning it might be a bit difficult, but the more you use the book and use Photoshop the easier it is :)

Photoshop CS4: Essential Skills (Photography Essential Skills)This is a great essential book to have in your collection, the DVD examples are a great help and saves hours of time trawling through commands etc. Pity it does not come with the software as standard issue.
Well worth the money.
