5.0 out of 5 stars A magnificent book of importance for all faith traditions, 23 Feb 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Faith in the Future (Paperback)
The Chief Rabbi has written a book that examines the situation we find ourselves in at end of the millenium, not through the myopic lens of one decade, or even one century, but under the vast canopy of Judaic history. In so doing he has created an immensely readable book that is of relevance to anyone who is concerned about the future of our society. Uncompromising on the need for a rediscovery of the principles that underpin family and community life, and unafraid to discuss the appalling events that scarred the twentieth century, this is nevertheless a book charged with hope. Your only regret when you read this book is that you didn't discover it sooner. The great temptation is to purchase copies for the other thinking people you know - lending your own is out of the question, you will undoubtedly read it again.
