This is beautiful and magical and tells us about our world through a wonderfully fictional one.

While exited by the title (beards) when I got this book I was less enthused. I enjoyed the art but I'm not all fussed about the story it tries to tell. It's world is an interesting muse on tidiness and is suitably mystic when it comes to the nature of the beard in question but I can't help but feel the telling itself lacks any sort of wumpf. The book resolved in a way that left me not satisfied but not really wanting more either.

Four stars, though? Yes, but you see the art is so very lovely and there isn't a page I turned over where I wasn't slightly worried about smudging it. The way the story pans out makes for some lovely imagery, I especially like the compositions wherein the giant beard is floating about in the background.

My first graphic novel and it wont be my last. Beautifully illustrated and written, I will be keeping my eye out for more of his work!

The book cover was slightly damaged, but I am still feeling very satisfied.

lovely pencil drawings, but let down by a weak story line. ok for teenaers maybe, but a bit too simple for adults.
