5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST for entry understanding of Use Cases
With an offset in the realistic case story the reader is guided with elegance and eloquence through the combination of theory and practice. The case story - the backbone of the whole thing - is beautifully simple and the ongoing quest for more detail and understanding is supplied with great sense of timing and educational understanding. If you dont - but would like to...

3.0 out of 5 stars Rather over-padded, but otherwise good.
I felt that the main points of this book could be compressed to a small pamphlet, but if you're prepared to ignore the waffle, this is indeed a good book. One important, perhaps obvious, point: make sure you become familiar with a Unified Process (e.g. Rational) as a next step, or your development process will be all use cases and nothing else! I think there's a...

I think there's a danger of people getting hung up on use cases as the be all and end all of software development process.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Very best for learning Use Cases, 20 Jan 2000

This review is from: Applying Use Cases: A Practical Guide (Object Technology Series) (Paperback)
If you are trying to understand UML and/or the Rational Unified Process, and you are new to these two subjects than you need this book. After spending months in reading book after book, papers after papers this book suddently putted everything in the right perspective. It uses a simple example from the beggining to end to let see things get going. To put it simple this is the book that welcomes you to understand the RUP and use cases.

5.0 out of 5 stars Meu Consultor Pessoal sobre Uses Cases, 14 Jun 1999

This review is from: Applying Use Cases: A Practical Guide (Object Technology Series) (Paperback)
Nota 10.

3.0 out of 5 stars Useful introduction to Use case concepts, 12 Dec 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Applying Use Cases: A Practical Guide (Object Technology Series) (Paperback)
A useful introduction to use case concepts in an easy to read style, although the case study dialog that other reviwers have mentioned does rather spoil the book - does it really matter that Tara can cook? (p12). However, overall a useful addition to your OO library - particularly as there are so few good books on the subject.
