Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Textbook of Evolutionary Psychiatry: The origins of psychopathology (Paperback)
I bought this book with high expectations hoping for a text that would seriously consolidate evolutionary research and hypotheses to augment understanding and deepen knowledge in the various mental and emotional disorders. I was disapointed by the result. The chapters covering major diagnoses basically replicates the DSM-IV-TR categories with additional scant focus on biology, genetics and evolutionary theories. Nothing new and an extremely conservative, dry text.

All in all, the author deserves to be congratulated on this erudite piece of work, which should be read by anyone with any interest in Psychiatry.
