I first started reading this as a research student and fund it very informative. It is still a great book and gives a good rounded introduction to the biology of streams and rivers. If you've any interest in freshwater ecology then I'd highly recommend you get read and keep this book for future reference.

This is an excellent book for any ecology course associated with streams and river. It provides coverage of all areas of the subject from the river continuum concept to river pollution and all the creepy crawlies that you wish you never knew about. A must have if you are interested in this area!
