5.0 out of 5 stars Ideal source material for academic work, 4 Oct 2012
This review is from: Cabinets and the Bomb (British Academy Occasional Papers) (Paperback)
Containing copies of Cabinet minutes, memoranda and brief explanatory notes, this work is a useful tool for anyone interested in charting the progress of Britain's nuclear capabilites. Due to the thirty year rule on Government papers it ends before the Thatcher era (although her cabinets were meant to be pretty one sided at best). The book also contains some great action photos of the delivery machinery, submarines and Vulcans as well as the personalities involved which help create an imagery to accompany the text.
It builds well upon the chapter on the subject in the authors book 'Cabinet'.
