Great Study Bible - Heavy with print bleed from previous two pages.
on 27 August 2015
I purchased this Bible as I was looking for a study Bible that wasn't necessarily written with a bias toward any particular denomination which included the Apocrypha. I purchased the hardcover.
The first delivered was bound upside and back to front, which another reviewer had mentioned. As always Amazon were great and replaced the next day.
The Bible itself is well bound, lays flat and the text size is reasonable. The background information, cross referencing and different translations along with maps and diagrams all in one binding really aids in grasping a clear understanding of the subject matter. As the description states this Bible weighs 1.4kg which as a study Bible laid flat on a desk is fine, supported in your hand for any length of time however and it soon feels far heavier! As such the paper it is printed on is thin to clearly try and save weight, the draw back is you have bleed through of the text from the previous two pages which is fairly distracting but bearable. My greatest concern is for the longevity of each page, as even with minimal handling the pages are already creasing and becoming distorted.
Ultimately I would recommend this as an excellent study Bible to anyone but with the suggestion you use a lighter copy with heavier paper (to reduce the bleed through) for everyday reading.
