This review is from: English File third edition: Pre-intermediate: Teacher's Book with Test and Assessment CD-ROM (Paperback)
The series, at least in elementary and pre-intermediate levels, is the best out there, in my opinion. (I'm nearly 50 years old and I've used both extensively over the years) And in this edition they've added more listenings, including recordings of the vocabulary worksheets and so on. (By the way, each of the students' books has a DVD with all of the recordings except for, mysteriously, the recordings of the song activities. Students at this level have problems with the original Summer Nights, for instance.) The video-activities practicing situational English (hotel, restaurant, etc.) have improved dramatically as well. I'm not particularly enthused with the web-based stuff, but each students' book comes with a password so that the students can access that site. It can't hurt.
