4.0 out of 5 stars Small and to the point
Once your child is diagnosed it is very easy to fall into the "buy every book going on the subject" world. This book is good, but it is so like all the others. If you are looking for some answers and help - find a self help group with parents of special needs children. I did this and have learnt more in 7 hours (over 7 weeks) than I did reading 8 books (@130 GBP's) on...

1.0 out of 5 stars A very disappointing book
I found this book very disappointing. It describes the classic face of autism and does not, as the title might infer, cover the whole autistic spectrum. This book only serves to strengthen the widely held misconceptions about autism. If you are looking for an up-to-date book covering the full autistic spectrum, then this is not what you are looking for.

And keep your head up - it will get better

This review is from: Autism: The Facts (Paperback)
This book is a simple summary of the condition. Very easy to read and extremely enlightening. It was the first book I read after my daughter was diagnosed and although I have read several more since then this is the one I come back to time and time again. I would recommend anyone who wants to know the basic facts of autism to buy this book.
