What a disappointment. These are not translations of original work by Hafiz, but poems 'in the style of Hafiz' ("renderings" as Ladinsky himself reveals some way into the introduction). I think the cover and synopsis are very misleading. It's not even clear in the book which parts are translated and which are written in parrot-fashion. I wouldn't recommend this if you want to read the works of Hafiz.
