4.0 out of 5 stars Better than my old one!
I need to read the bible for literary reasons, and this version, arranged in paragraphs with verse numbers indicated in tiny font, is certainly easier to read than my old bible in double columns on flimsy tissue-paper. That said, it's still a hefty volume. There is useful preliminary material but I would have welcomed more informative maps to help me through Exodus,...

OK, if you don't know and love the original text of the King James' version. Norton has taken it upon himself to 'improve' the text by selectively updating the grammar. He says that he has removed all of the unnecessary alterations of previous revisions . . . maybe, but he has added many more of his own - there is scarcely a page on which there is not some grammatical...

If every household had blessed themselves with having this great book in their houses, I have no doubt the world would be worthy of living in.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Buy, 4 Mar 2012
This review is from: The Bible: King James Version with the Apocrypha (Penguin Classics) (Paperback)
This is a great buy for me, ever since i learned about the original 1611 KJv and the Apocrypha, And that you could get a bible now with both of them i was very happy. Now i own my own. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to read and study the bible and the Opocrypha , its also helpful if you're just knowing that a portion of books called the Apocrypha was taking out the bible. So don't wait any longer get this compact bible.
