5.0 out of 5 stars Ginger Rocks, 14 July 2008

Having read all of Cathy's previous books, I was in haste to buy her new novel, Ginger Snaps, from my local bookstore. I'm pleased to say that again Cathy does not disappoint.
I won't go into detail about the plot of Cathy's latest novel, but what I will say is that it is a story of failing friendships, & not being afraid to express your individuality.
All in all, it is enjoyable read, with an ending that really makes you think: Just because some people are seen as cool & popular, it does not necessarily mean that they are a kind-hearted person inside.
With Ginger Snaps, author Cathy Cassidy shares an important & meaningful life lesson to her readers, old & new: Follow your heart.

This book deserves way more than just 5 stars.
Seriously, get this book or miss out!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!!!, 4 Mar 2012
This review is from: GingerSnaps (Paperback)
Gingersnaps is the story of a girl called Ginger. Ginger used to be an outsider, she had puppy fat, and wore pigtails, then, when secondary school occured, she found herself best mates with the populast girl in the year group, Shannon. So then, Shannon made Ginger realize that she can be pretty if she wanted to be. Ginger changed the puppyfat to make-up and the pigtails to hair straighteners, and Ginger never looked back, until now.

Ginger and Shannon befriend a lonely girl called Emily and that's when everything changes. Ginger thinks she is becoming a bit of a third wheel, is she? And a saxophone lover boy is starting to develop feelings for Ginger, everything is changing. Shannon and Ginger are slowly drifting apart. Can they stay best friends for ever or are they going to go there own ways?

Gingersnaps was the first book i read by Cathy Cassidy and i was certain i would read more. It leaves you wanting to read on, wanting to find out more on every chapter. I thought it was awesome!!! It all fits together perfectly. It has a realy good storyline and it's very realistic. This book can help teenagers in many different ways. Teaching them to do what's right, to always stick up for your best friend and to never tell lies, because if you do then someone wil find out, and there will be serious consequences.

I reccomend this book for ages 10+. Get it and you will not be dissapointed!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gingersnaps is an excellent read!, 20 Jan 2010
A Kid's Review
This review is from: GingerSnaps (Paperback)
Gingersnaps is an excellent read with entertaining characters. My favourite somehow was Ginger!!! I don't normally like the main character in books, like with Angel Cakes I like Fracis McGee. In Indigo I liked Misti!! But I seemed to feel a connection with Ginger. I have lost friends in the past and found it very hard but in the end got over it! I love this book and highly reccomend it!
