1.0 out of 5 stars Hate it when Amazon ......
Advertise an e book as version of a respected published book when it is just some made for Kindle unauthorised unheard of version. The critically acclaimed New Penquin series on Freud, have an e version of this book, but this is not it and it seems that you have to go to the Penguin website to buy. WARNING.

given the time of its writing, this book is still as revealing and impressive as it might have looked at the early part of 20th |Century

5.0 out of 5 stars Pivotal and seminal, 27 May 2013
This review is from: The Unconscious (Penguin Modern Classics Translated Texts) (Paperback)
The book is not for EVERYONE! or at least for those who take psychoanalysis as just a book on dreams and how mind produces dreams!
If you're an undergraduate / postgraduate studying English Lit, Psychology, philosophy then this book will serve your purpose of critiquing texts and their labyrinthine hidden meanings.

If you've read Freud's other works, then this makes them stand out even brighter.
If you need to know, for instance, how reality is perceived by our sensorium, or might be curious to find out how literary works reflect and appropriate the very fundamental definition of reality, then there's a whole, unadulterated paragraph on this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pricing, 17 Aug 2012
No reflection on the book itself which is a classic and should be read be everyone.

But: Kindle edition £7.99 vs Paperback edition £6.99 ???

Come on Amazon/Penguin, this is pretty shameful, and a very common occurrence - please sort these pricing disparities out and stop treating your "valued" customers with this sort of contempt, I paid for my kindle, and now have to pay an additional premium on top to read a book which is cheaper in the physical edition?
No wonder E-book piracy is so rampant, when your own behaviour is so buccaneer. Until you sort this out you can't really take the moral high ground on the issue.

Book arrived in great neat and fresh condition. It is as should be expressed without dumbing down terminologies or sugar coating terms.

As this book is original work of Freud, there is a lot of technical language and can be quite hard to follow. However if you can work out the meanings within this book, then it is a very useful one. Its really down to ones personal preference.
