Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.
If you like animals its a wonderful story of trying to save the lion population for the next generation to see.

Here is one of the great books! I was totally captivated by the story of Tony Fitzjohn. honestly written warts and all account of his work in conservation. it was like sitting down with Tony in the room and having a conversation. one that I never wanted to end. hopefully there will be a second book in the making.

a candid story of an inspirational life, I heard the author speak at Gilgil school and wanted to follow up with the book, thoroughly enjoyable but sad at times and always hope
the book was well worth the purchase, delivered as described well within the expected time frame

I have been interested on Fitz for a long time and waiting for a biography of some sort. Such an incredible and interesting life. His deep love for, and commitment to, wildlife - especially his big cats - is just so obvious and powerful. What impressed me most - and, I think, indicates the character of the man, is how he doesn't dwell on details of any of the many personal crises he has been faced with. He just keeps moving forward. Apart from anything else, it is also a very good history book. If you love Africa and its wildlife, you'll love this.

As a child, I grew up watching Born Free and I'm a big fan of these types of stories. I'd love to do something along the same lines. Truly inspiring!

This book is a must for any one who is interested in Wild life. I work as a volunteer for the Born Free Foundation and to read Tony's book brings everything to life and makes us aware that one man can make a difference.

Excellent read! Gave me a really good insight into the changing face of the East Africa since the 1970's.
