I got this set off The Book People. The Phizz-Whizzing collection is much better than the Scrumdidlyumptious collection as here you get 15 books for £22, in the Scrumdidlyumptious set you only get 6 for £20. The books are excellent (he puts a lot of information into it), and often very funny. My favourite is George's Marvellous Medicine, where a boy who has a grumpy, miserable old grandma who bosses him around when his mother and father are out decides to make a medicine to "either cure her completely or blow off the top of her head." He goes round the house with a big saucepan, and chucks in all different sorts of things, like toothpaste, shampoo, shaving foam, deodarant, face cream and floor polish. And that is just one of the 15 fantastic stories in this Phizz-Whizzing collection.

Stories included are:

The Magic Finger
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Esio Trot
Fantastic Mr Fox
Boy: Tales of Childhood
Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator
The Twits
James and the Giant Peach
Danny, the Champion of the World
George's Marvellous Medicine
Going Solo
The Witches
Matilda
The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me
The BFG

This is a great box set. If you don't buy it you'll be missing out on one of life's greatest treasures, that's for sure. BUY TODAY!

Thanks for reading

I bought this set for my 6 year old daughter and have had many wonderful evenings reading and talking about these books. At first I read to her, but now she is keen to read them for herself and is sharing them with her little sister. As a girly-girl, I wasn't sure whether she would appreciate them, but she loves them. Great value for money for all the family - including mum and dad!

Bought as a present for my 7 year old son. He absolutely loves the stories and he is very keen to read them on his own. He now reads Roald Dahl, rather than looking at pictures in football books.
We can highly reccomend the whole set!

I bought this for my niece this Christmas as I was assured that she loves the stories of Roald Dahl. I was particularly happy to buy this as I too loved his tales as a kid. The compendium includes 6 of the best and is very well priced. One happy purchaser, one happy niece!

Excellent set of books purchased for my grandson. I am reading them all before sending in batches to him in the USA! He will love them. Roald Dahl was my daughter's favourite author when she was a child so passing on through the generations.

Roald Dahl is without a doubt one of the best children's authors and this collection is excellent value. I initially hesitated about getting them think that my six year old would want something simpler but as he was insisting on hearing the stories every time we were in the car we thought it worth trying. The ultimate vote of approval was when my wife was reading to him at bed time (Charlie and the Chocolate factory) he took the book from her and started reading it to her, followed by insisting on taking one of them to school so he could read them in his free time. When a story engages a child that well it's a sign that the author has got something right and when you can get a box set of 15 for this value the publisher has got something right.

In short, stop procrastinating and buy these.
