5.0 out of 5 stars Key Thoughts, 11 Dec. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Aphorisms (Classics) (Paperback)
Licntenberg is a key figure in the history of German aphoristic thinking, a tradition that
includes Schopenhauer and Nietzsche. He wrote down his thoughts
on any scrap that came to hand. They are remarkably lively, even in translation,
and this is selection is absorbing. Well worth acquiring.

4.0 out of 5 stars Thinking of things among the thoughtful..., 5 Oct. 2008

This review is from: Aphorisms (Classics) (Paperback)
Certainly, if you decide to take a quick peek inside this book of words of wisdom from one of the more entertaining aphorists in literary history, you'll definitely become a wiser man, or, if you're a woman you'll be wiser, still. Such information to be found for the taking here is always entertaining, enlightening, and even amusing at times; although aphorisms are a serious business to the well-informed man looking for answers, who is inebriated on the philosophical revelations of educated men of the likes of Lichtenberg...and if you're going to be inebriated anyway, why not start here with this book?
