5.0 out of 5 stars Master piece of the Western Mystery Tradition, 11 Jun 2008
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Western Way: Omnibus vol 1 The Native Tradition & Vol 2 The Hermetic Tradition (Arkana S.): A Practical Guide to the Western Mystery Tradition: The Native Tradition AND Vol 1 (Paperback)
I would consider this text in both volumes essentially reading for anyone interested in the Western Mystery Tradition, in particular traditions stemming from Dion Fortunes work and associated paths.

Volume one analysis the Ancestral Tradition of the Britons, giving a view and insight to the shamanic practices of the Henge builders, references to late iron age Druids and so forth. Volume 2 deals with the Hermetic traditions and traces the history of magical thought throughout Europe, from Egypt, Babylon/Chaldea, through Alexandrian mystery schools to Renaissance Qaballaism and post victorian magical societies.

Highly recommended.
