1.0 out of 5 stars Outdated and badly explained, 18 Sept. 2007

I bought this book thinking it would be a good introduction to QuickTime on Mac and maybe it once was, back in 2004. In 2007 however it's horribly outdated, the examples are difficult to follow and the sample code doesn't work on Intel based Mac OS X machines.

Unless your job is to provide continued support for a QT application written before Flash was a big player, don't buy this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Expensive and outdated, 24 Nov. 2010

The book is expensive and outdated. The book's style is rather quaint in that it tries to be chatty and helpful. Unfortunately this makes it awkward to dip into because (for instance) the chapter titles give no real idea of what is covered. Not a terribly useful reference.

Volume 2 is similarly poor.
