5.0 out of 5 stars Another Patterson Engaging Novel
Alex Cross must be as aged as his readers. The Ex-FBI detective with a life-time experience of sensing and analysing the underlying motives and methods of the murderers he encounters continues. The more sinister and sadistic the crimes, the more he is embroiled. His family are long-suffering. This time, Alex is involved with controlling plastic surgeon, Elijah Creem who...

3.0 out of 5 stars Alex Cross , run
I chose this rating as I feel the "alex cross" books have lost originality. The stories are much the same, with bodies piling up and Alex Cross pulling it all together at the end. they do not "grab me" as the earlier ones did. I am not so eager to turn the page!
I still like the characters, they are old friends but I wish James Patterrson would return...

2.0 out of 5 stars James Patterson is not the writer he was., 17 Aug 2013

I used to love the Patterson books, the stories were interesting and well told. My only objection was to the Cross family. They were so boringly perfect, wise old grandma, 2 perfect clever children who never argued let alone fought. From the age of 5 Jannie was speaking with the maturity of a 30 year old, but the stories were so good most of that could be blocked out. I was surprised this book had been written solely by Patterson. So many of his books now are co written with other writers and they have suffered from this. I always felt with those books that the plot was Patterson's but he had got less good writers to do all the writing and unfortunately this book came across the same way. Plenty of killings but there was no shock or excitement. It was written like a shopping list and didn't involve me in any way

book 20 in the Alex Cross series... god i love this man... he's my hero..lol

Another truly fantastic book, i enjoyed it from start to finish, as i have with all the Alex cross books. well worth the read...

Three killers are on the rampage in the capital and dead bodies are piling up almost as fast as the police can count them.

Alex Cross is in charge of all three investigations and has never been under more pressure. But with a crisis at home that threatens to tear his family apart, Alex's attention is divided. While Cross tracks the killers, he doesn't notice that someone is tracking him.

Can Alex unravel the cases and find the killers in time? Or will he be the next dead body on the list?
