I have enjoyed all the other Science of Discworld books but this one is little more than a rant against religion. I don't have a problem with science versus religion books but this one is just too smug and self important for its own good. If I wanted to read this kind of thing, I could read one of the many other books on the subject. The science is at times as advanced as the other book people have difficulty reading (A brief history of time) and does contain some good insights but is occasionally impenetrable. The Discworld content is sparse and not up to Pterry's usual standards at all.

When it comes to Discworld, there's no such thing as a bad Pratchett book. However, in saying that, this instalment of the The Science of Discworld series is a little light in the story department and I did find that quite disappointing. It's brilliantly written (very funny), but it almost feels like a filler for the science section. The science aspect is both interesting and entertaining. I will read it again, but for me, its the weakest in the series.
