Although my second child has not yet arrived i have really enjoyed reading this book in prepartion for what is to come. I used the CLB rountines for my first child and it is great to have them laid out again but this time incorporating a toddler into it. There are some useful ideas on preparing for the new baby and tips and advice such as having a little present for the toddler when they visit the baby for the first time. When the time comes to weaning the baby there are meal planners which are great if you are already using the Gina Ford cook book for your toddler. So although I cannot speak from experience, I am pleased to have read this and had the chance to prepare as much as possible for number 2!

Although I wouldn't be able to follow GF's strict schedule, this book was a relief in the first weeks after my new baby's birth: it helped me to find some time for my toddler, helped me to understand a new baby's sleeping patterns (my first child was sleeping through the night from her 2nd week, so this 'normal' baby's sleeping habits came as a shock), and overall made life at home more serene.
I found that GF had a lack of common sense, and that this book was more flexible than her other books, i.e. she often proposes 1-2 hours windows to get things done. I took the 'idea' of the book and applied it to my children, and it worked wonders - so thank you GF!

This book has set me up ready for my second baby. I have not followed Gina Ford's routine before but am keen to this time. It seems to make sense especially when my toddler is already in a routine. The book gives lots of ideas of how to include the toddler so that he doesn't feel left out and how to fit baby routine around your toddler. Now it's a wait and see. But i feel ready for the next one and this book has eased my mind on the concerns i had.

Follow up book for Contented Little Baby, worked a treat with number 1, and now I'm about to have number 2 hopefully this will help live run smoothly again.

Like with the first book I shall take bits from it that suit our lifestyle, but it gives great tips on what to do at meal/ bed/bath time and school runs.

Just that really. It makes assumptions about where your toddler is at, and most of it is verbatim out of the first book. You don't need this if you have the first book. If you don't then I suppose it could be useful.

Another fantastic book by Gina Ford, I have found the Contented baby excellent so this was one was always on my list when number two arrives. Highly recommended if you like routine in your chaotic life like me.

After using Gina for my 1st, I got this for some advice with coping with 2!! Have been a little disappointed - I think Gina expects too much from the toddler so recommend using TCLB for your new baby and winging it with the older child! Routines for baby are same as TCLB so if you didn't have that book then this old be useful!

It is useful generally speacking. It is a bit too rigid - you have to listen to your own child and not force him too much because " the book says"! It helps you know how much and when your baby should sleep during the day in order to have him sleep through the night.
