A great tool when you need ideas for using with groups,
By A Customer
This review is from: 100 Training Games (McGraw-Hill Training Series) (Paperback)
Running a work group? Providing a training session? Setting up a project team? Running an induction programme?Worried about being a talking head? Want to involve the participants? Want to get attendees comitted? Stuck for ideas or looking for new ones? Try this book. It has 100 exercises for icebreaking, team building, communications, developing facilitation skills, energising everybody, developing perception, helping people evaluate and for developing self management. I have used exercises from this book mainly with older conservative (mainly male) participants and find a bit of resistance to some of the exercises but others have been very powerful and helpful. Each exercise is coded according to how it can be used (many have multiple uses) and there is a very useful index to find exercises which support a particular purpose. Thank goodness the author provides answers for the brain teasers.

This book contains many games which can be used as team building or starters for lessons. Don't know what I did without it - my lessons must have been quite boring!

A really good resource. Some excellent ideas. Well presented and well written - the key at the front enables you to determine which exercise targets which area. Exercises vary from short icebreaker / energisers to the longer game, something for every occasion. Highly recommended.

Some of the activities are very good, however, you have to really look for them. Most of them are not very good or old and too familiar. However, the presentation is very good and the book has an easy reference at the begining that you can use to pinpoint the activities that are suitable for different topics.
